The fifth annual 21st Century Literacies Lecture Series co-sponsored by the Initiative for 21st Century Literacies Research, the Oklahoma State University College of Education, Health & Aviation, the Kim and Chuck Watson Endowment, and the Oklahoma State University Writing Project, will be held 10:00 am February 22, 2018 in Willard Hall 010. Beginning at 9:00 am, the 21st Century Literacies Graduate Student Poster Sessions will be presenting outside of Willard Hall.
The 21st Century Literacies Lecture Series promotes innovative, interdisciplinary research and scholarship on 21st century literacies. This year’s theme is Literacies for a Better World i, featuring keynote speakers Dr. Bryan Ripley Crandall, Fairfield University, CT, Dr. Sean Connors, University of Arkansas, and the editors of The Handbook of Writing, Literacies, and Education in Digital Cultures. For additional information, email [email protected] Call for Proposals Fifth Annual 21st Century Literacies Lecture Series Graduate Student Poster Presentations We invite you to submit a proposal to present a poster at the 21st Century Literacies Lecture Series at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, at the College of Education, Health & Aviation. The poster session will precede the 21st Century Literacies Lecture Series to be held February 22, 2018, with poster presentations beginning at 9 a.m. and the lecture beginning at 10 a.m. Two winners will be selected for recognition (Best Poster and People’s Choice) with a monetary award. Poster presenters will be required to attend the event beginning at 8:45 a.m. for set up and 9:00 a.m. for presentations during the designated time to participate in a question and answer session regarding the poster being presented. Proposals are due by January 25, 2018. In the event of poster submissions that exceed our allotted space, we will reach out for additional information to include a 300-word abstract of your poster. Poster Presenters will be notified by February 1, 2018. Poster Presentation Topics Posters should address a topic which aligns with the definition of 21st Century Literacies, found here (NCTE, 2016). 21st Century Literacies attend to the need to:
